Our mission is to provide quality, Christian education for children which will foster the physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual growth at a reasonable cost. Our curriculum provides opportunities for worship and for other experiences that help broaden a child's religious and spiritual concepts. All faiths and races are welcome.

To maintain quality, class sizes are limited to 12 children per teacher.

At First Baptist Church School, children enjoy a gently structured program which provides time for free play, as well as gross and fine motor development.
Auditory, visual, and tactile activities promote cognitive and language
development. Activities designed to develop math concepts are also provided.
Art and music instruction is interwoven with the curriculum. Social
interaction between children and teachers provide opportunities for the
interweaving of Biblical truths and the expression of God's love. The child's world is widened by field trips taken to interesting places with parental permission.

Personnel at First Baptist Church School are carefully selected for their ability to
relate to children's needs as well as their training in methodology. The school's
director/kindergarten teacher is state D.F.P.S. certified as a director and
has her state teaching certificate in education with kindergarten endorsement.

The Pre-K teaching staff has experience teaching preschool children in
various settings. All have had many hours of preschool training.

All staff is required to update knowledge and skills in early education yearly
(teachers--15 hours per year, director--20 hours).
All staff are certified in C.P.R. and First Aid.

Children may be enrolled for our school according to the following.
Pre-K--must be 4 years old by Sept. 1st of school year in which he/she will be enrolled. Kindergarten--must be 5 years old by Sept. 1st of school year in which he/she will be enrolled.

Registration begins each March 1st for the following school year.

The school operates on the same calendar as Hondo I.S.D.

Hours are 8:10 a.m. - 12:00 noon, school days. Early arrival and noon
transportation are available for a small fee.
